TRAFFIC DETOURS FOR RAILROAD CROSSING & UTILITY REPAIR IN HANOVER
The Borough of Hanover Department of Public Works has announced two street projects with traffic restrictions taking place during the week of July 7, 2025.
Beginning Monday, July 7, 2025, through Friday, July 11, 2025, Railroad Street will be closed at the railroad crossing near 236 Railroad Street between the Guthrie Memorial Library and the Tree of Life Personal Care Home. The library will remain open during this project. Please follow the posted detours and avoid the area if possible. Motorists typically traveling from the east to visit the library should use the Carlisle Street entrance during the duration of the project.
The second traffic detour will begin Tuesday, July 8, 2025, through Friday, July 11, 2025, the 200 block of High Street (between Park Street and Pennsylvania Avenue) will have lane restrictions and intermittent closures for utility and railroad crossing repairs. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area if possible. Truck traffic heading west should use Forney Avenue between Chestnut Street and Pine Street to avoid the area. East bound truck traffic should use Carlisle Street between 3rd Street and Frederick Streett to avoid the area.
