SUSQUEHANNA OUTFITTERS OPENS SATURDAY AT LONG ARM RESERVOIR

Susquehanna Outfitters, a family-owned paddle sports rental company based in Wormleysburg, will open for the season at Long Arm Reservoir located along Grand Valley Road in Hanover starting Saturday, May  24, through the Memorial Day weekend with rental hours continuing Saturdays and Sundays from 10AM to 6PM through Labor Day.  Outdoor enthusiasts can choose from a variety of rental options including kayaks, fishing kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards with hourly rates starting at $30. Rentals are on a first-come, first-served basis, but advanced reservations may be made at www.SusquehannaOutfitters.com/longarmreservoir

The Borough of Hanover initiated the partnership with Susquehanna Outfitters last summer. According to Director of Parks and Recreation Matt Purkins, “The partnership with Susquehanna Outfitters allows residents and visitors to experience the beauty of Long Arm Reservoir without having to own their own kayak or canoe. It allows access to those who might not be able to afford their own craft, or a novice looking to try out a new recreational activity.”

Long Arm Reservoir is also a highly regarded birding destination praised by the York Audubon Society and offers exceptional viewing opportunities from the water. “Grab a paddle and jump in!” encouraged Susquehanna Outfitters adventure guide and owner Matt DeLuca. “You haven’t really seen Pennsylvania until you’ve experienced it from the water!”
