Main Street Hanover Launches New Interactive Downtown Map to Help Visitors Explore, Plan, and Discover

Hanover, PA — Main Street Hanover is excited to announce the launch of a new interactive downtown map, designed to make exploring Hanover easier, more engaging, and more accessible for residents and visitors alike.
The new digital map allows users to virtually explore downtown Hanover before they even arrive. Visitors can click on individual businesses and destinations to learn more, view images and videos of their locations, and discover everything downtown has to offer, all from a desktop computer or mobile phone.
“Now you can quite literally explore downtown Hanover from your couch to prepare for your next visit,” said Moriah Tyler, Executive Director of Main Street Hanover. “We wanted to create something that makes it easy for people to discover our downtown, plan where they want to go, and get familiar with the area before they arrive. Whether you’re looking for a place to eat, somewhere to shop, an activity to enjoy, or simply trying to figure out where to park, this map puts that information right at your fingertips.”
The interactive map features a variety of categories to help users find exactly what they are looking for, including:

  • Arts & Entertainment
  • Health & Wellness

  • History & Heritage

  • Services & Professionals
  • Community Resources
  • Parking & Getting Around
One of the map’s most important features is its focus on parking and getting around downtown. Users can easily identify parking options and better understand how to navigate Hanover, helping make a first visit more convenient and less intimidating.
“We know that one of the biggest barriers to visiting an unfamiliar downtown can simply be knowing where to go and where to park,” Tyler said. “By putting all of that information together in one interactive tool, we’re taking some of the guesswork out of exploring Hanover.”
The map was intentionally designed to be as accessible as possible. No app is required. Users can access the interactive map directly from their computer, tablet, or smartphone.
The project was made possible in part through funding from Explore York, whose grant support helped Main Street Hanover purchase the software needed to develop and launch the interactive map.
“Partnerships like this allow us to invest in tools that strengthen Hanover’s downtown and improve the visitor experience,” Tyler added. “We’re grateful to Explore York for helping make this project possible.”
