Hanover Borough Police Department Announces Memorial Day Road Closures & Parking Restrictions
Hanover, Pa. – The Hanover Borough Police Department has announced the following parking restrictions and road closures for the Annual Memorial Day Parade to be held Monday, May 25, 2026.
Parking restrictions start at 7:00 AM Monday morning in the following areas:
• NO Parking on Carlisle Street from Third Street to Center Square
• NO Parking on Baltimore Street from Center Square to Footer Street
• NO Parking on Chestnut Street from Railroad Street to N. Franklin Street
• NO Parking on Center Square
Those vehicles found parked along the parade route or parade formation area will be ticketed and towed.
Traffic will be restricted starting 7:30 AM at the parade formation area on Carlisle Street from Third Street to Center Square. The remainder of the parade route will close to traffic at 7:55 AM. The parade starts promptly at 8:30 AM beginning at the American Legion Post No. 14, located at 201 Carlisle Street, traveling south on Baltimore Street (Route 94), through Center Square, and ending at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Penn Township. Memorial services will then be held at the cemetery near the Soldier’s Monument.
The parade is organized by the Allied Veterans Council of Hanover. For information on the parade contact Hanover VFW Post 2506, Brian Couse at Brian.Couse@CACI.com or 240-344-4971. Should the parade be canceled due to weather, services will be held inside the American Legion Post No. 14 beginning at 9:00 AM. There may be attendance limitations based on the confines of the space.
